Alarm Agent Wireless RTU
RACO Announces
the Expansion of its Product Line with AlarmAgent.com
Emeryville, Calif.,
August 20, 2003 - RACO Manufacturing and Engineering Company of Emeryville,
CA, announces the expansion of its product line with the development of
a new wireless remote maintenance, monitoring, control and alarm notification
system, AlarmAgent.com. This cost-effective, easy-to-set-up service will
allow field, plant and other personnel to collect, access and easily view
data from their monitored equipment 24-hours a day, from any Internet-connected
PC or other Web-enabled device, via a secure central Web site.
All hardware and interface
software has been internally designed and developed by RACO engineers
to be used exclusively for AlarmAgent.com. This allows RACO to capitalize
on the monitoring and data delivery experience gained in the development
of the entire RACO product line, as well as to easily make modifications
and updates as the technology grows. In addition, RACO designed the Web
interface to provide users with a reliable and dynamic means to manage
the generation, delivery, escalation and acknowledgement of remote data
and alarm messages, as well as to allow for easy equipment configuration
and manipulation.
Users will benefit from AlarmAgent.com’s timesaving functionality, relevant
data reports and security features. Personnel will enjoy the ease of being
able to simultaneously configure multiple RTUs via the Web site without
the need to visit the RTU locations. Configurable parameters include recipient
calling lists and duty roster, multi-tier alarm escalation sequences,
reporting modes, input channel alarm criteria and others. For detailed
analysis and charting, users will also have the ability to view and download
a variety of reports on alarms, maintenance data, pump station flows,
operating efficiencies and other types of events/activities. And, for
added piece of mind, the Web site is implemented redundantly at two geographically
separate, secure Network Operation Centers.
"It's a new realm of functionality in monitoring and alarm notification
solutions," stated James Brown, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
at RACO Manufacturing and Engineering Company. "The addition of this
wireless service allows RACO to provide our customers with the exact solution
their remote communication situation requires, while maintaining the level
of customer support and service they have come to expect from RACO."
For over 50 years and with more than 30,000 installation locations, RACO
Manufacturing and Engineering Co. of Emeryville, Calif. has provided municipalities,
industry and government with a wide variety of high quality, reliable
remote communications systems and RTUs for data logging, alarm autodialing,
remote monitoring, reporting and control. For more information, contact
